The Fantastic Little iPhone Camera

Taken with iPhone 4 - no editing

There is nothing more exciting than seeing green shoots spring forth from the frozen snow covered ground!  I took this shot this morning with my iPhone 4 which I absolutely love using as a camera. Besides all the very cool camera and photography apps which there are many (I'll blog about some one day), the default camera feature takes amazing photos.

I have been able to capture things that I would not have had the time to either 1. grab my other camera or 2. been able to angle my camera with its lens in the ways I can with my iPhone.  I first became aware of its amazing and unique abilities a few years ago when it was actually the iPhone 2. I was over at my parent's house when I came across The Best Camera is The One That's With You: iPhone Photography by Chase Jarvis in my father's den which had photographs taken only with an iPhone. I was shocked and amazed at the capacity of this camera phone and decided to use it more. That was about 2 years ago and each day I challenge myself and my little iPhone camera to see what we can capture.

There is one app that I'll mention  - it's a fantastic little app which I use on a daily basis called Project 365. It keeps a photographic calendar of a daily photograph. I have used this app for two years and adore it - I look back and can remember things simply by the one picture I choose to post that day to it.  The app also allows you to upload the photos to their website where you can see them on your laptop or computer. I love this app since it helps challenge me to take unique pictures every day. After all its no fun to look back at the same old picture.

The other thing which I love about using my iPhone is that it is always with me. I try to have my other cameras in the car or in my bag but I usually always have my iPhone on me - unless of course, I have misplaced it which has been known to happen. But for the most part, its in my pocket and has allowed me to capture moments of beauty to bizarre.  So if you have an iPhone I hope you are having as much fun photographing things with it as I am!
